Addressable vs conventional fire alarm systems
How to choose a system for a small office or a large facility.

Conventional system
Detectors are wired in zones. On alarm, the panel shows only the zone, not the exact detector. Suitable for small sites and more affordable.
Addressable system
Every device has its own address, so the panel shows exactly which device is in alarm or fault. Preferred for large buildings, business centers and multi-storey sites.
Choosing detectors
- Smoke detectors: offices, corridors, living rooms.
- Heat detectors: kitchens, garages and places where smoke or steam may cause false alarms.
Fire system design must comply with applicable codes; contact Select Security for details.
